Our mission and vision
Our mission at Redeemer is to glorify God by living and sharing the gospel—the good news—of Jesus and to make disciples of all nations.
Our mission

We exist for the glory of God
The Bible is so clear on this; all things ultimately exist for the glory of God. As a church we do not exist for our own fame, or so that people would look at us and be impressed. No organization, group, or individual can ever be worth ‘glorifying’ in the same way as God is. Our deepest longing is that as a result of coming into contact with us as a church, people would encounter God, worship and love him.
Living the Gospel of Jesus
The Gospel of Jesus is the message of Jesus. It is the grand narrative of the Bible. It is the heart of God for people from eternity past to eternity future. The Gospel never grows old, and we never move past it—just deeper into it. The Gospel has to be lived because it is all-encompassing for the Christian. The Gospel has implications for every area of life, and therefore we live in such a way as individuals and as a community that shows the message of Jesus.
Sharing the Gospel of Jesus
The Gospel of Jesus has to be shared in words because words are powerful! We love the Word of God. We want to be a church where the message of Jesus is clearly heard as it is preached about and talked about.
We are part of the global story
We're not a church or a small thing tucked away in a corner over here somewhere, doing our best to survive, but part of a huge global movement to reach the people of the world. We need to start seeing ourselves within the great flow of God’s mission. This is the vision that drives us.
The mission has a church
We need to understand that the church doesn't have a mission, the mission has a church. We are God’s plan to gather people from every background, every tribe, and every tongue.
Antioch type of church
One of the things you need to know about Redeemer is that we don’t believe that there is a sacred/secular divide—that the important stuff happens in meetings in church and the rest of life is not really important. No, everybody is in full-time Christian ministry. Whatever you do throughout the week is of central importance to the extension of the kingdom.
In our church here at Redeemer, as in the Antioch church we read about in the book of Acts, it’s not primarily about platforms and meetings, but about living out our normal everyday lives as disciples (walking with Jesus), as family members (sharing life with one another), and as missionaries (sharing Jesus with people who don’t know him).
Our vision

Our vision describes the kind of church we want to be.
We dream of a truly diverse, multicultural, international, multiplying church. We dream of raising leaders to plant, establish, and grow thriving Communities across the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, and to plant churches beyond. We dream of deeply impacting society, and the people around us, with the good news of Jesus.
We envision:
A church that prioritises being shaped by the Word and led by the Spirit.
We envision:
A church who raises and releases leaders to strengthen other churches and start new ones.
We envision:
A generous church who consistently and joyfully gives away its finances and its people.
We envision:
A church that is multi-racial, multi-cultural, led by a team highly committed to these things.
We envision:
A church that measures its success by how many people take on the world
with the gospel.
We envision:
A church where people see and feel evidence of the grace of God.
We envision:
A church that is fuelled by worship and prayer.
We envision:
A church with a global vision.
We envision:
A church that acts locally with intentional cross-cultural engagement and effective mission.
We envision:
A church that focuses on growing and multiplying disciples who in turn make other disciples.
