On Sunday, November 9, we will have the next opportunity to give towards the work of God in Redeemer—what a joy!

We have seen wonderful growth within the church recently. With more people joining Redeemer, we need to strengthen several areas of our ministry to ensure we can continue serving one another well, while staying on track with our vision and mission.

During this special offering, we would like to invite you to give on top of your regular giving, to support us with the specific aims described below. We are extremely thankful for the enormous generosity within Redeemer, and we are grateful that monthly giving is already growing. When we collect the special offering, this gives us the opportunity to make specific improvements or investments where it’s needed most.

It’s important to understand that giving should be out of free will, and not because you feel pressured to do so. However, the Bible does encourage us to “Excel in the grace of giving” (2 Cor 8:7) and that it’s very good and wonderful to trust God with our finances. Therefore, we would like to ask you to prayerfully consider which part you can play.

Leadership Development

With a growing church, we recognize the need to train and equip leaders within our church. To do this, a brand-new Redeemer leadership training course will be launched in 2026. We have asked Henk Kersten to prepare and run this program. To do that, we will increase Henk’s capacity for the church by one extra day, going from 1 day to 2 per week.

Pastoral & life group development

As the church grows, providing the right care and support for people becomes increasingly important. Part of this is provided through our Life Groups. Babak, one of our elders who already oversees the Life Groups, will play a more significant role in pastoral care and developing Life Groups for the growing church. For this purpose, Babak will join Redeemer’s staff for 1 day per week starting in 2026.

Operational Capacity

We are in need of operational support—more specifically, someone who is able to oversee church planning and practical organization, such as the coordination of meetings, events, and Sunday services, in addition to providing support to our volunteer teams. We would like to increase staff capacity with a new role of 1-2 days per week. We are currently looking for the right person to fill this role.

Venue

We have been blessed with a great mid-week and office venue right in the city centre of Maastricht. However, we are finding there is not enough space at this location to host all of our current groups, and the size of some groups exceeds the maximum capacity at this location. We are working hard on finding and leasing a new, bigger and more accessible building, which will increase our venue costs.

Give away

We are blessed to be a blessing, so we always give away a portion of our offering to our family of churches, New Ground, so they can continue serving churches worldwide and see the Kingdom advance.

How to give

We will hand out special pledge / gift forms during the service on November 9. Please use this form to inform us of your contribution to the special offering. That helps us to set aside this amount for these special giving projects. The amount you want to give can be transferred online or through one of the methods described on our Giving page.

Thank you for your generosity!
