About this preaching series
From March 22 until the end of June, Redeemer Maastricht will be running a new preaching series on the book of Exodus. Through our Sunday gatherings and in Life Groups, we will be studying this book which offers us the first, major redemption story in the Bible before Jesus is born.
In it, we see the Hebrew people being led out of slavery by Yahweh—God—and following His leading in the wilderness and trusting for Him to protect and provide. He is leading them to the Promised Land—a place of abundance, freedom, and peace.
Exodus continues to shape what we, as Christians, understand of and hope for in redemption through Jesus Christ. Through His life, death, and resurrection, and one day His return, we have a new exodus; through Him, we are making our way through the wilderness to the Promised Land, a permanent city built by God.
Preparation and materials
Preparation
We are moving swiftly through the book of Exodus, and for that reason we will ask you to read one or two chapters in Exodus before each Sunday. To prepare you, we will send out an email at the start of each week with the weeks’ readings and questions.
Please make sure you are registered for our newsletter to get the details. On weeks when we will have a different topic of focus or a guest preacher, no emails will be shared.
Resources
Life Groups will receive their own materials for discussing the series during mid-week get-togethers. These materials correspond with the book Exodus for You by Tim Chester.
