WHY JESUS?
No matter what you think of Christianity or the church, you can’t deny that Jesus is the most famous person in the whole of human history. More songs have been sung to him, pictures painted of him, and books written about him than anyone who has ever lived. Even our calendar is based on his life, dividing time before and after him.
Jesus was a real person who walked on the earth. But the only way to get to know Jesus is to understand what the Bible says about him, which includes what he said about himself.
The best way to do this is to start by reading the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John to get an understanding of the real Jesus. Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone's welcome. It runs in cafés, churches, universities, homes—you name it. No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: food, a talk and good conversation.
